Eight months remain until the Saiyans reach Earth! Piccolo splits his body into two, creating an identical twin that he can fight against. Elsewhere, Gohan is being followed by a suddenly tame Saber-tooth Tiger and fashions a handmade sand yacht to cross the desert. In transit, he is attacked by a giant eagle which blows him into a densely forested area! The sand yacht was never designed for this kind of terrain, and finally goes to pieces on a downhill incline ending in a sheer cliff face! Gohan has found the ocean.

     Walking along the beach for several days, he comes across his own tracks. Climbing a nearby mountain, he reaches the peak and discovers that his training ground was an island all along. Feeling a longing for his mother, he fashions a raft from the enclosing forest and, leaving the Saber-tooth behind, sets out to sea. That night he encounters a terrible storm, and is engulfed in a cluster of waterspouts!
